THE ROAD IS OUR AGONY, BUT ALSO OUR DAILY BREAD - -
- a series of memorable and forgettable rants, ramblings, and stories from the road. . .
I saw this graph through an email I received not long after PR was finished. It's been a while since I've read a graph, but that last surge doesn't appear to be 731 watts, it looks a hell of a lot more like 500-510 to me. In either case, impressive ride (hopefully I get to watch it this weekend) and he's undoubtedly in a hell of lot better shape than I am. :)
Steve-those software programs "smooth" the ride data. Otherwise it would be extremely hard to read. That peak is there, it probably occurred for such a short period of time that it was left out of what you see. The powertaps will take several reading per SECOND, you are just seeing them average out over that second. The power output here wouldn't be too terribly insane for a <20m effort, if he hadn't done nearly 6 jaw rattling hours prior ;)
