Kim: I will not be able to attend due to a work engagement, however, my thoughts and prayers go out to Ms. Brown's family and loved ones. So sorry this tragic accident had to happen and even sadder that the criminal that hit her didn't care enough about his/her own earthly sister to stop and help. Could've saved her life.

Thanks for helping to bring her story to the rest of Kim.

Sam, Jadi & Leta,

Your mother was a remarkable woman and my friend. She loved us all unconditionally, as we loved her. She was a beautiful girl and and even more beautiful woman. I knew her well when we were teenagers running recklessly. Then I met her again as the energetic cheerleeder and proud parent of her two taekwondo children. She was so proud of you. Through the years, we traveled to many tournaments and attended many functions together. Tina always made the journey memorable. She was a role model to me and taught be that we can be happy no matter what our circumstance.

Now, as she turns the page in her journey, I'm sure that she is lighting up the room in heaven.

With fondest memories and love, your friend and Tina's friend,

The fellow who left Tina Marie was booked into Polk County Jail yesterday for Homicide by Vehicle and Information and Aide(leaving the scene of the accident)with a total of $38,500 for bond. I will be watching this through the courts for Tina. My heart goes out to the family and the bicylcing community. This makes every rider uneasy --wondering if the vehicle coming from behind could ever be so thoughtless. However, this energizes me to continue to ride and spend time advocating for my place on the road. Ride Safe.

Five bicyclists arrived and provided our condolences. Tina obviously had a lot of friends and family who will miss her. The funeral was nice. Thanks to those that attended. I saw on Iowa Courts online that Mr. Adams bond is $100,000 for Homicide by Vehicle while Intoxicated. It did not appear they filed the Information and Aide charge. It appears those who operate a motor vehicle while intoxicated are our worst enemies. Be safe. AMD

Just so it's all in one place, it seems the driver was convicted, sentenced to a 25-year term, and ordered to pay $150,000 restitution to the family.

It doesn't bring Ms. Brown back, but nonetheless it is good to see justice done, as so rarely occurs in cases like this.

Details here.
