Close one Kim, get lapped 5 times in a race and you have to return the skinsuit, its in the IRC bylaws. Better to fake a mechanical or just crash out, you seem to be pretty good at that...

nice to see you out braving the cross bike. try pretending you dont have brakes, it helps me sometimes. that liberal quiz is a crack up...

EVERY time i approached "broken lung ridge" i slowed nearly to a crawl, i kid you not.
i was terrified.
i do NOT want to be in the hospital ever again.
jay, it's sadly humorous that you make the "no brakes" comment. when i was first getting started, i don't recall where i was racing, but at one crit [it might have been in the milwaukee area, but not superweek] i had friends and teammates in EVERY corner hollering at me as i approached EACH corner EVERY lap:
"NO BRAKES, WEST! NO BRAKES!"

i guess it's time to go back through my old training logs, eh?

too funny,
i can only hope i will be racing long enough to learn information forget it and then learn it again. jc

I recall meeting Becky Halm by sitting at the hair pin like turn in the Twin Bing Classic Crit and yelling "No Brakes!" at her for every lap of her entire race. She stopped afterwards and expressed her thanks for the encouragement and said she tried to brake less and less through the race and then found that she was doing it. Some call it heckling, I call it coaching.

wheelies are aero and result in less pavement drag coefficiencies!
